Laughlin, NV / Bullhead City, AZ – March 14, 2026 — The River 250 Signature Event at Gary Keith Park delivered a memorable day of family-friendly education, living history, and community celebration, welcoming residents and visitors from across both Arizona and Nevada.

Centered around a self-guided “Walk Through History,” attendees experienced 11 interactive historical exhibits designed to educate and engage all ages. Families moved through the park discovering the rich heritage of the Colorado River region while participating in hands-on learning experiences.

A highlight of the event was the immersive 1776 reenactment presented by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at the McCormick Fine Arts Pavilion. Featuring 32 live actors, the performance brought the founding of the nation to life through dynamic storytelling and authentic portrayals, captivating audiences throughout the day.

The event was further enriched by the valued partnership with the Colorado River Historical Society & Museum (CRHS), whose contributions ensured historical accuracy and depth across the exhibits. Their involvement reinforced the event’s mission to connect the community with the region’s unique and meaningful past.

Adding to the experience, **living history elements—including camels and oxen representing early commerce along the river—**provided a rare and engaging look into the ways goods and people once moved through the area. These interactive components were especially impactful for younger attendees, creating lasting educational moments.

The event also featured 45 vendors integrated throughout the exhibit pathway, offering a vibrant marketplace atmosphere while complementing the historical journey. Strong family attendance and regional participation highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for programming that blends education with entertainment.

“The River 250 Signature Event reflects what this program is all about—bringing history to life in a way that is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for families,” said organizers. “We are especially grateful for the partnership of the Colorado River Historical Society & Museum and the DAR, whose contributions made this experience truly special.”

As part of the ongoing America 250 initiative, The River 250 continues to deliver programming that celebrates the nation’s history while strengthening community connections across the Colorado River region.
