LAUGHLIN, NV / BULLHEAD CITY, AZ — A massive patriotic banner measuring 75 feet wide by 25 feet tall will soon be installed on the south face of Davis Dam as part of the region’s celebration of America’s 250th Birthday and Davis Dam’s 75th Anniversary.

The banner installation is scheduled to take place several days before the July 4th holiday weekend and will remain in place throughout the celebration period before being removed as operational schedules allow.

Sponsored by the Laughlin Tourism Commission (LTC) and its community partners, the project was made possible through funding provided by the Nevada Division of Tourism (Travel Nevada) grant awarded to LTC for The River 250 Project – “Where the River Runs Red, White, and Blue.”

The mission of the project is to create a memorable and iconic backdrop where residents, visitors, families, and travelers can capture photographs and commemorate where they were during one of the nation’s most historic milestones—the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

“This banner serves as a visual celebration of our nation’s history and our region’s heritage, while creating a unique opportunity for people to gather, reflect, and make lasting memories during this historic occasion.”

Visibility Throughout the Region

The enormous display will be visible from numerous vantage points throughout the Colorado River Valley, including:

  • The Don Laughlin Bridge
  • Heritage Trails at Pyramid Canyon in Laughlin
  • Davis Camp in Bullhead City
  • River vessels operating below Davis Dam
  • Areas near the river buoy line
  • Aircraft and aerial viewpoints throughout the region

To maximize visibility, the banner will be brightly illuminated each evening, allowing it to be viewed 24 hours a day throughout the holiday celebration.
